Vanderbilt steps up support during dangerous ice storm
As a dangerous ice storm swept through Middle Tennessee in late January, Vanderbilt quickly mobilized to support students, faculty and staff amid widespread power outages and hazardous conditions. The university opened warming centers, adjusted academic schedules and provided frequent updates, while facilities, dining and public safety teams worked around the clock to keep campus safe and operational. Rollout of new portal streamlines access to Vanderbilt policies for faculty and staff
University Policies—policies that have a broad institutional impact—are now easier for faculty and staff to access than ever before. Through an initiative supported by a new University Policy Office in the Office of the General Counsel, the university has launched a policy portal that houses all approved University Policies in a searchable, easy-to-navigate centralized repository.
