Vanderbilt University Theatre will open its 2023–24 season with 'Good Kids,' a play by Naomi Iizuka. The play, directed by Ibby Cizmar, assistant professor of theatre, deals with campus sexual assault. Shows are scheduled for Oct. 6–8 and Oct. 12–14 at Neely Auditorium. Read More

School of Engineering alumnus Olatunde Osinaike is one of five winners of the 2022 National Poetry Series. His debut collection, 'Tender Headed,' is being published by Akashic Press in December. He will be on campus for an alumni reading event Oct. 24, co-sponsored by the Vanderbilt Creative Writing Program and the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center. He returns to Nashville Jan. 25, 2024, for a reading with The Porch, a literary nonprofit. Read More

The combined fine art project and feature-length documentary together strike at the root of anti-LGBTQ+ attitudes by exploring the challenges and aspirations of LGBTQ+ Catholics. Vanderbilt University is partnering with NashFilm to provide two of the festival’s venues, Rothschild Black Box Theater and Sarratt Cinema. Founded in 1969 as one of the first film festivals in the United States, the Nashville Film Festival will host its 54th festival Sept. 28–Oct. 4.  Read More
