Football preview: College GameDay, t-shirt giveaway, parking, kickoff vs. Missouri
ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot is coming to Wyatt Lawn on Saturday. The iconic pre-game show takes place from 8–11 a.m. and precedes No. 10 Vanderbilt’s sold-out game against No. 15 Missouri at FirstBank Stadium. The first 2,000 fans in line for GameDay on Saturday will get an exclusive Be-LEA-ve t-shirt. Additional details will be added to the page as they become available. Read More

Collaboration, community and love for the written word were celebrated at the 2025 Southern Festival of Books, presented by Vanderbilt University in partnership with Humanities Tennessee Oct. 18–19 in downtown Nashville. The free event, the 37th in festival history, brought hundreds of prominent national authors together in dialogue with fellow writers, readers and thousands of Middle Tennesseans. It also marked the first year of an expanded partnership between the festival and Vanderbilt, evidence of the university’s deepening investment in the cultural fabric of the region. Read More

On the 10-year anniversary of the first gravitational wave detection, Arts and Science astrophysicists lead the way in discoveries

In 2015, scientists witnessed something unprecedented: two black holes colliding. Each 29 and 36 times the mass of the sun, they had circled each other for millions of years before merging into one. The collision sent vibrations—gravitational waves—rippling across the universe at light speed. Billions of years later, astronomers on Earth detected them for the first time. Since then, scientists, including researchers in Vanderbilt’s College of Arts and Science, have led breakthroughs deepening our understanding of black holes and the universe. Read More
