The clock is ticking down as Vanderbilt quickly approaches a major milestone—Commencement is officially less than 100 days away. The undergraduate Class of 2025 will have a familiar backdrop for their May 9 Commencement ceremony: GEODIS Park. Home to Nashville SC, GEODIS Park is the largest soccer-specific stadium in the U.S. and Canada—and it’s only four miles from campus. Read More

Sustainable shifts: Vanderbilt survey sheds light on commuting habits and patterns

In 2019, Vanderbilt University sent its first Commute Survey to staff, faculty, postdocs and graduate and professional students to better understand their commuting habits and patterns. Over five years, the survey has revealed a significant shift to sustainable choices like telecommuting and walking. Vanderbilt has released its findings of the 2024 survey on commute and transportation practices. Read More

Another Record-Setting Performance: Blakes breaks the NCAA true freshman single-game scoring record with 53 points vs. Florida
Mikayla Blakes celebrates her record-setting points scored with fellow Vanderbilt women's basketball teammates.
Mikayla Blakes rewrote the NCAA women’s basketball record book once again, as the Vanderbilt women’s basketball standout broke the NCAA true freshman record for most points scored in a game with a 53-point performance to lead the 23-ranked Commodores to a 99-86 road win. Blakes’ 53 points are the most scored in a game by a first-year player at the NCAA Division I level. She is the only Division I player — men’s or women’s — to score at least 50 points in a game this season. Additionally, she set both the SEC and the Vanderbilt women’s basketball single-game scoring records. Read More
