Why get the flu shot every year?

Flu viruses evolve quickly, and the flu vaccine is updated to target the most likely strains for the upcoming season. Because of these changes, last year’s vaccine may no longer protect you, making it essential to get the updated shot every year.

It’s also important to note that flu vaccines take approximately two weeks after being administered to provide full protection. That’s why experts recommend getting vaccinated by the end of October to ensure that you’re fully protected throughout the flu season—which typically peaks in the winter months.

Getting your flu shot is a simple yet powerful step you can take to stay healthy this flu season. Make plans to get your flu vaccine before the end of October.
