VUIT launches permanent on-campus E-Waste Drop-Off location at Hill Center

Following the successful relaunch of Vanderbilt’s E-Waste Drop-Off events in FY25, VUIT is excited to announce a new, permanent drop-off location at the Hill Center for smaller e-waste items.

Faculty, staff and students can now responsibly recycle eligible electronics Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. See a full list of acceptable items.

This initiative supports Vanderbilt’s commitment to sustainability and responsible technology use. During the last academic year alone, VUIT’s e-waste events collected nearly 4,000 pounds of electronic waste, resulting in:

  • 5,556 pounds of greenhouse gases reduced
  • 114 pounds of toxic metals diverted
  • 634 gallons of water saved
  • 1,346 pounds of metal recovered

Have larger items? Be on the lookout for information about our next full-scale E-Waste Drop-Off event coming later this year.

Together, we can reduce our impact one device at a time.
