Campus Dining celebrates National Nutrition Month with lineup of events

March marks National Nutrition Month at Vanderbilt, and Campus Dining is hosting a lineup of events for 2025 that celebrate healthy eating, community and culinary creativity. This year’s initiative, Food Connects Us, highlights the journey from local ingredients to the dining table.

Be sure to grab one of our interactive bingo cards during the first week for a chance to win tickets to the Underground Supper Club’s exclusive dinner on April 1.

Here’s what’s happening:

March 3

International Women’s Day Celebration at Cafe Carmichael 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
We’re kicking off the month by celebrating International Women’s Day at Cafe Carmichael. While this event isn’t exclusively part of National Nutrition Month, it highlights the contributions of the talented women who are shaping our campus culinary scene.

March 5

National Nutrition Month Mini Expo at The Rec Center 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Join Campus Dining for an informative session at the Nutrition Month Mini Expo, hosted by Vanderbilt’s Recreation and Wellness Center. Enjoy a variety of stations featuring healthy food and drinks while learning from representatives from Human Resources, Pedestrian Planning, and the Transportation and Mobility Office.

March 6

National Nutrition Month Table 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Pick up bingo cards to participate in our contest for the opportunity to win tickets to our final Underground Supper Club for this year.

March 19

Rand Farmer’s Market at Rand Dining Center

Explore fresh, local produce from vendors offering seasonal products. This event highlights sustainable food practices by supporting the farm-to-table approach and aligns with National Nutrition Month’s focus on healthy, community-based food systems and fostering connection.

March 26

Student Care Network Wellbeing Fair at Rand Dining Center 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

In collaboration with the Student Care Network, Campus Dining presents a Wellbeing Fair. Enjoy a day dedicated to holistic health, with engaging activities, wellness resources, and nutritious options designed to enhance your campus experience.

March 27

Connection Dinner at Commons Dining Hall (Time TBD)

Disconnect from your devices and reconnect with fellow students at our phoneless Connection Dinner. This unique dining experience encourages genuine conversation and shared moments over a curated meal.

Language Tables

To continue the theme of food connecting us, the Language Table dinners featured at Zeppos Dining Hall will be available on Thursdays at Rand throughout the month, showcasing dishes from different regions.

Bingo Card

Students can stay engaged this month by participating in our interactive bingo challenge. Bingo cards will be distributed during the first week of National Nutrition Month, and once your card is completed, you can enter a drawing to win tickets to the Underground Supper Club’s special dinner on April 1.
