The wait is over! Starting Monday, Feb. 3, 25th Avenue South will reopen, including entrances to West Garage and 25th Avenue Garage. In coordination with the reopening, Vanderbilt is launching two new VandyRide pilot routes with stops along 25th Avenue South.
VEHICLES
New Updates:
- 25th Avenue South from Blakemore Avenue to West End Avenue now allows two-way traffic.
- The 25th Avenue South entrances to West Garage and 25th Avenue Garage have reopened.
- The Ingram Studio Arts Center and Student Life Center buildings’ driveway is inaccessible to vehicles.
Continuing Impacts:
- Vehicular traffic cannot access Natchez Trace from Jess Neely to Kensington Avenue.
- Closure of Lot 16 along Garland Avenue.
- Periodic single-lane closures on Vanderbilt Place near 25th Avenue South. Flaggers are on-site to direct traffic flow.
- Kensington Avenue between Natchez Trace and 25th Avenue South is open.
- Jess Neely Drive between 25th Avenue South and Natchez Trace is permanently closed to vehicle traffic.
PEDESTRIANS
Updates:
- All sidewalks along 25th Avenue South between Blakemore Avenue and West End Avenue are open.
Continuing Impacts:
- The promenade between the Student Life Center and Ingram Studio Arts Center is closed. Alternative routes are established and marked.
- All sidewalks along Children’s Way are accessible.
- The Student Life Center and Ingram Studio Arts Center are still accessible from 25th Avenue South.
- The sidewalks along Kensington Avenue between Natchez Trace and 25th Avenue South are open.
- Students should exit Branscomb Quad onto Vanderbilt Place for easiest navigation. Take Vanderbilt Place to 25th Avenue South to enter the Frist Athletics Village, or take Vanderbilt Place through the West End Neighborhood to access main campus.
- The pedestrian pathway from Garland Avenue along 24th Avenue South is open.
- Bicyclists should dismount in marked areas.
VandyRide Pilot Routes
VandyRide is a convenient nighttime transportation service for students, faculty and staff. The shuttles run daily from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., when classes are in session. The routes are designed to cover key areas of campus to ensure efficient and safe travel.
In response to high demand, Vanderbilt is expanding VandyRide by adding two new pilot routes—the Green and Purple Routes—in addition to the Black and Gold Routes.
- Real-time shuttle information is available on the VandySafe app.
- Download the Passio GO app for instant access to route information and stop locations on Android and IOS.
INTERACTIVE CAMPUS MAP
This interactive campus map allows pedestrians to get the latest route around construction sites to any location on campus. This map also has more details about the timeline of all projects on campus.
All pedestrian and vehicle routes are subject to change; updates will be shared in MyVU and on the Facilities Instagram and X accounts.
