As the Central Garage expansion on the Vanderbilt University Medical Center campus nears completion, the construction crane on Pierce Avenue will be dismantled. The removal will begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, and conclude on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 11 p.m.
- Staff can exit the Central Garage Pierce Avenue exit from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday by turning right only.
- One southbound lane of traffic on the west side of 21st Avenue, from the Vanderbilt pedestrian bridge to Pierce Avenue, will be closed during the shutdown.
- More than 10 officers will be on site to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic, including at the 21st Avenue lane closure, Children’s Way and Pierce Avenue.
