Vanderbilt’s north pedestrian bridge over 21st Avenue South will be closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Friday, June 28, until Thursday, July 18, for repairs and maintenance.
This work will also result in periodic lane closures along 21st Avenue South: A southbound lane will be closed from Friday, June 28, to Monday, July 8. A northbound lane will be closed Tuesday, July 9, to Thursday, July 18. One lane will always be open for vehicle traffic, and the sidewalks along 21st Avenue will stay accessible.
The pedestrian bridge is an ADA accessible route through the Vanderbilt campus. To ensure accessibility, an alternative ADA route will be clearly marked.
Alternative ADA Route
- Pedestrians should cross 21st Avenue South at the designated sidewalks.
- Elevators are available inside MRBIII, follow signs.
The stairs on the north side of 21st Avenue, near the bridge, will still be available as a non-ADA route for pedestrians.
Alternative Bicycle Route
- Bicyclists coming to or from campus should use the accessible sidewalk near Wilson Hall or Medical Center Drive.
- Map out your route before visiting campus using this interactive campus map.
