Be part of history: Submit a digital note for the Sesquicentennial time capsule

V150

In 1874, the Vanderbilt community pulled together materials and mementos and interred them in a time capsule at Kirkland Hall, which was recently unearthed and opened.

As part of Vanderbilt’s Sesquicentennial celebration, a new time capsule will be placed in the building.

All university community members and alumni are invited to submit a digital note about your aspirations for Vanderbilt’s future for possible inclusion in the new time capsule.

Vice Provost for Arts and Libraries Tracy Sharpley-Whiting, University Librarian Jon Shaw and University Archivist Kathleen Smith have led the effort to collect and curate the items for the time capsule, which will represent this era in Vanderbilt’s long history.

An option for a video submission is also available.
