Understanding Higher Education course available for employees

Are you new to higher education or looking for a better understanding of the environment and terminology? The HR Employee Learning and Engagement team invites you to participate in Understanding Higher Education: An Overview of Higher Education, a new self-paced and interactive course from CUPA-HR 

Course 1: An Overview of Higher Education is a basic orientation to the higher education environment and includes topics such as types of institutions, cultural hallmarks of the higher education work environment, basics of higher education funding, basics of shared governance, academic freedom, tips for success and more.  

This course is highly recommended and useful to all employees who are new to higher education and/or want a more solid context for better understanding the higher education environment, structure and terminology.   

The course is open access and does not require registration. Upon finishing the course, learners can download a certificate of completion from CUPA-HR.

The Understanding Higher Education series also offers Course 2: Higher Education Employment Practices and Course 3: Succeeding and Leading in Higher Education. To access Course 2 and 3, please email ele@vanderbilt.edu to be added to the CUPA-HR membership roster.
