Children’s Way to close as Phase 2 of CUI project begins March 13

Children’s Way and Lot 104 will be closed from Monday, March 13, to Friday, April 28, for Vanderbilt University’s Central Utilities Initiative project. Two-way traffic on Children’s Way will be closed from 24th Avenue to 25th Avenue and will include the portion of the road in front of Blair School of Music and West Garage. Please refer to the illustration, which identifies details of vehicular and pedestrian impact as well as adjustments to Blair building drop-offs, deliveries and parking during this phase of construction.

Pedestrian movement will still be available on the north side of Children’s Way. Bicycles will be rerouted to the north side of West Garage. Flaggers and signs will be in place to help navigate easily around the work zone for everyone’s safety.

West Garage will remain open for the duration of the work; however, the entrance from Children’s Way will be closed. The entrances from 25th Avenue and 24th Avenue will not be impacted. Staff using temporary Blair parking should use the 25th Avenue entrance and park beyond the parking gate on level 3. This gate is located beyond space 227.

The ADA parking spots in Lot 104 are closed; spots will be available in Lot 103 around Blair School of Music.

This is the second of three phases that will occur in this area. More information will be released about the last phase closer to the date of construction.
