‘Understanding Sundowners in the Elderly’ is March 9

“Sundowners” affects the elderly and those in the early or advanced stages of dementia. It is a state of confusion and disorientation that typically occurs in the late afternoon and early evening.

Amy Walters, a case manager with Senior Helpers, will define sundowners, explain who it affects, and common behaviors and care strategies.

The talk will be on Wednesday, March 9, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. CT.
