With the holiday season in full swing, Vanderbilt students now have access to additional delivery options for Amazon.com packages shipped to campus.
Earlier this semester, Amazon partnered with Vanderbilt Mail Services to install two state-of-the-art Amazon Hub Locker systems. These secure self-service locker systems are conveniently located at Rand Hall and The Commons Center and give students expanded access to retrieve orders placed on Amazon.com. Shipping to the Amazon Hub Locker is available at no additional charge and is an option for most items on Amazon.com, dependent on size and weight. Pickup simply requires a smartphone with the Amazon shipping app to release the contents.
“Consistent with the dramatic rise in worldwide shipping and ecommerce volume, Mail Services has seen a significant increase in the number of student packages shipped to campus each year,” said Sean Carroll, senior director of marketing and auxiliary operations. “The introduction of Amazon Hub Lockers on campus should improve students’ access to packages and offer a more streamlined approach to package pickup.”
The lockers operate similarly to Mail Services’ existing parcel lockers but are operated and maintained exclusively by Amazon for Amazon.com shipments.
