BY THE BOARD OF TRUST OF
VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY
in appreciation of
VANDERBILT STUDENTS
WHEREAS, Vanderbilt students have made significant contributions during an unprecedented year within the university’s history;
WHEREAS, students have stayed resilient and committed throughout hybrid classes, safety protocols and tightened parameters around their daily lives;
WHEREAS, they have shown accountability and care in protecting one another in classrooms and residence halls, throughout creative pursuits and the many activities that enrich learning—whether remotely or on campus;
WHEREAS, they have flourished not only as scholars, but as active members of a diverse and inclusive community in which all members are able to thrive;
WHEREAS, they have endured hardships that have strengthened their character and prepared them for success in an increasingly complicated world;
WHEREAS, their vigilance has not only kept our doors open, but reinforced the power of learning with exceptional clarity and grace;
WHEREAS, they have come together in the spirit of One Vanderbilt to advance our mission and serve as a model of shared purpose that is unique in higher education.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trust expresses its deepest and most sincere gratitude to each and every Vanderbilt student for their hard work, adaptation and compassion during a year that has defined and advanced our ability to persevere.
