Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory to host virtual star party April 17

Join Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory on April 17 at 8 p.m. CT for a free, educational star party and discussion.

Hosted by Billy Teets, director and outreach astronomer for Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory, participants will enjoy an evening of celestial viewing and discussion. This is an “any weather” event, and specific programming will depend on the clarity of the skies. Topics may include nebulae, black holes, stars, planets, current space missions, astrophotography and gazing tips. Questions from viewers are welcome during these lively, engaging evenings.

Scientists from the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society, Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium, the Memphis Astronomical Society, Rhodes College and the McGill Space Institute will be at the party.

The event will be streamed online. Participants can register on Eventbrite.
