Changes coming to VUIT resources

As the new year begins, VUIT will implement a number of changes that may impact you. Brief descriptions of the changes and links to additional details can be found below.

Separation of Exchange Outlook address book

The VU/VUMC shared Exchange Outlook address book will be separated on Jan. 8, 2021. VUMC users will be removed from the global email directory, and users with email lists that include VUMC users will need to take action. Users needing email distribution lists with VU and VUMC membership should migrate those lists to LISTSERV. For assistance converting the VU email distribution list(s) to LISTSERV lists, please contact VUIT Support at help.it.vanderbilt.edu.

Zoom cloud recording cleanup

Zoom cloud recording storage cleanup will begin on Jan. 11, 2021. VUIT will be enabling a 90-day retention rule and will begin deleting recordings older than 90 days.

Discontinuation of automated email forwarding to external addresses

Auto-forwarding of emails to external destinations will be disabled beginning Jan. 6, 2021. Users impacted by this change have received email notifications with information regarding the change.

New secure file transfer service

VUIT has announced the retirement of the Accellion file transfer service as of Dec. 31, 2020. As a replacement, VUIT recommends using OneDrive for Business for securely sharing or transferring files. All university faculty, staff and students have access to this service.

New single sign-on (SSO) portal

VUIT has launched a new single sign-on (SSO) portal to enhance the customer experience in Vanderbilt systems. The new SSO portal can be accessed through the hyperlink as well as through the logins drop-down located in the menu bar on the VU website.

If you have questions about any of these changes or need additional information, please contact VUIT Support at (615) 343-9999, or submit a help request at help.it.vanderbilt.edu.
