Applications for Vanderbilt Leadership Enrichment accepted through Nov. 30

Vanderbilt Leadership Enrichment program logoApplications are now being accepted for the Vanderbilt Leadership Enrichment program. VLE is designed to develop key leadership skills and competencies for staff who are line or operational leaders demonstrating high potential, and whose leadership position is between front line supervisor and director.

The year’s cohort will consist of 20 participants selected from a breadth of departments across the institution.

This university-wide program will consist of virtual sessions, offered from February through October 2021. The program aims to help participants enhance their leadership self-awareness and increase their institutional knowledge.

VLE was launched in 2019 with significant input from Vice Chancellor for Administration Eric Kopstain, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Chief Financial Officer Brett Sweet and Vice Chancellor for Information Technology John Lutz, with support from Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente.

VLE session topics include:

  • overviews of higher education and of Vanderbilt
  • self-awareness
  • leadership identity development
  • personal storytelling and branding
  • presentation skills
  • facilitation and effective meeting design
  • employee engagement
  • building team effectiveness
  • coaching and effective feedback
  • well-being in the workplace
  • inclusive leadership
