Vanderbilt’s Go for the Gold program awards a wellness credit of up to $240 per year to employees enrolled in and paying for the Vanderbilt Health Plan. The Go for the Gold program can help you achieve a healthier and more productive life by identifying health risks and encouraging you to take action to reduce those risks.
Complete the steps
Step 1: Health Assessment
First, complete the Compass Health Assessment to help identify personal health risks and ways to improve your health. Earn $120 for reaching the bronze level (Health Assessment).
Step 2: Wellness Actions Log
Next, use the Wellness Actions Log to document the actions you take toward maintaining or improving your wellness. Earn $180 for reaching the silver level (Health Assessment + Wellness Actions Log).
Step 3: Game Plan for Your Health
Finally, view the Game Plan For Your Health video featuring tips from Vanderbilt faculty and staff for practical ways to take charge of your health. Earn $240 for reaching the gold level (Health Assessment + Wellness Actions Log + Game Plan for Your Health).

Wellness credit
University employees designate their Go for the Gold wellness credit during Open Enrollment to be applied to one of the following:
- Health Plan Account: Up to $240/year (amount based on the Go for the Gold level achieved) earned by university employees can be applied to your Health Plan Account. For the Select PPO, the credit will be applied pre-tax and is used to offset deductible and co-insurance costs. For the Choice CHDP, the credit will be applied to your HSA.
- Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center membership: Up to $240 (amount based on Go for the Gold level achieved) can be applied toward annual membership at the VRWC. Visit the VRWC website for membership rates.
