Vanderbilt University’s 2019 Turkey Toss, a longstanding holiday tradition where senior leaders express thanks to faculty and staff for their hard work and dedication, is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 20, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event for university employees will be held in a new location this year: the E. Bronson Ingram College Dining Hall.
Full-time benefits-eligible faculty and staff of the university will be able to choose one of five options: a turkey, a tofurky, a mug set, a VU tote bag or bamboo utensils (while supplies last). You must check in and show your Vanderbilt University ID card with the iClass symbol before picking up your gift. Gifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so come early to ensure the best selection.
This year’s event will celebrate diversity and inclusion. Fun activities—including a turkey toss game, ornament decorating and a “sELFie” station—will be featured, as well as special visits from Santa and carolers. Stop by our elf workshop and visit with staff from the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center, Vanderbilt University Public Safety, Health Plus, the Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the Divinity School, Vanderbilt Athletics, the University Staff Advisory Council, the Vanderbilt Credit Union, and Human Resources Diversity and Inclusion.
Shuttle vans to and from E. Bronson Ingram College will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pick-up and drop-off locations are the Baker Building, the Peabody Administration Building (Lot 95) and the 25th Avenue Garage/Highland Avenue bus stop. Free parking also will be available in the Terrace Place Garage. Shuttle service and parking are compliments of VUPS.
