The Vanderbilt Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows volunteered at LP Pencil Box in September as part of their monthly service initiative. LP Pencil Box provides teachers in the Nashville area with materials they may need for their classrooms at no cost.
During their time at the organization, the Humphrey Fellows bundled supplies and stocked the program’s storeroom. They noted the amount of supplies LP Pencil Box distributes to Metro Nashville Public School teachers and the generous donations of those who partner with the organization.
For their October service event, the Humphrey Fellows volunteered at the Nashville Zoo’s “Boo at the Zoo” event, passing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program brings accomplished mid-career leaders from developing nations and emerging democracies to Vanderbilt Peabody College for an academic year to study, gain professional experience and foster cultural exchange.
