Oracle Cloud update to include new features

Vanderbilt’s Oracle Cloud environment will undergo its next quarterly upgrade the weekend of Aug. 16-17. Following this update, users will see an enhanced mobile-responsive interface in additional applications.

Scheduled downtime begins 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16

This quarterly update is scheduled to begin on Friday, Aug. 16, at 9 p.m. and end on Saturday, Aug 17. Please plan ahead for this period when the system will be unavailable.

A downtime notice will be displayed on the SkyVU website while the update is underway and will be removed when the update is complete and the system is available to all users.

In this update: Enhancements to Personal Information, Time and Absence modules

Following this update, the Personal Information module will have an updated mobile-responsive interface that will allow users to view and update their information more easily when accessing Oracle from a smart phone or tablet.

In addition, users will see the Time and Absences modules combined to a single module called “Time and Absences.” Within this module, users can view their time off balances and request time off as well as view and submit time cards (as applicable).

Training and resources

Guided instructions for many common tasks are available in Oracle. To access the in-system guidance, click the “Guide Me” tab, enter a search keyword, then select the task to view the instructions. Online training courses also are available in the Learning application by searching the keyword “Oracle.”
