Topping last year’s Employee Appreciation Picnic may seem impossible, but we’re FAIRly certain this will be the best one yet. Come to the Employee Appreciation Picnic: At the County Fair for prizes, games, food and fun.
This year’s event is set for Tuesday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Food truck fun
This year, the food trucks will be back including Califarmia, King Tut and Roscoe’s Smoked BBQ. For a complete list, check out the website.
Pressed for time? This year a buffet hosted by Famous Dave’s will offer a to-go plate!
Beverages will include canned sodas, and water will be available at our new hydration station. Make sure you B.Y.O.V. (bring your own vessel).
Baking contest
This year’s picnic will include fun new events, such as the At the County Fair Baking Contest. Prove you have the best chocolate chip cookie or blueberry pie recipe and earn bragging rights over your colleagues. Check out the official rules and guidelines on the website. Deadline to enter is Friday, May 10.
Craft fair
Also new this year is the At the County Fair Craft Fair. From acrylic paintings to wreaths, we invite crafters of all trades to enter. Would your holiday wreath make Martha Stewart jealous? Do you dream of opening an Etsy shop? Enter your best DIY and/or art projects! Check out the official rules and submission guidelines on the website. You also may submit your entry there; be prepared with a photo/description of your submission as these are required prior to the event. Deadline to enter is Friday, May 10.
To gain admission, bring your valid Vanderbilt University ID to the ticket booth under the main tent on Magnolia Lawn to enjoy a free food truck meal (or buffet), games, prizes and more.
The annual Employee Appreciation Picnic is an opportunity to express thanks to Vanderbilt employees for playing an integral part in the university’s purpose and mission.
