The inaugural SCRIPS (Supporting Careers in Research for Interventional Physicians and Surgeons) symposium is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in Light Hall, Room 202. The symposium is open to the entire Vanderbilt community. All Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty, staff and trainees are welcome to attend.
SCRIPS aims to equip M.D.-only interventional physicians for academic careers in basic/translational research, and the symposium will be a blend of scientific lectures and autobiographical career stories and guidance. Nationally known, active physician-scientists will share lessons learned on their journeys through academic science and medicine. Current SCRIPS Scholars also will give lectures discussing their current scientific endeavors.
