Plan ahead for Oracle Cloud scheduled maintenance and updates

Vanderbilt’s Oracle Cloud environment will undergo regular system maintenance and updates during the last two weekends in August. Please plan ahead, as Oracle Cloud will not be available to users during the following time periods:

Monthly maintenance – Aug. 17-18

Regularly scheduled maintenance is completed in Vanderbilt’s Oracle Cloud environment on the third Friday of each month beginning at 9 p.m. During this time, Oracle Cloud will not be available to users.

August 2018 monthly maintenance will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, and will be completed on Saturday, Aug. 18. The monthly maintenance message will be displayed on the SkyVU webpage while maintenance is underway and will be removed when maintenance is complete.

Quarterly upgrade – Aug. 24-26

Oracle releases new versions of Oracle Cloud on a quarterly basis. Vanderbilt’s Oracle Cloud environment will be upgraded to the latest release during the weekend of Aug. 24-26. This quarterly release provides new functionality and improvements to the user interface in several areas, and information about these updates will be available on the SkyVU website.

This quarterly upgrade will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, and continue through Sunday, Aug. 26. Users should not attempt to access the system during the upgrade. An upgrade message will be displayed on the SkyVU webpage while the upgrade and testing are underway and will be removed when these activities are complete and the system is available to all users.
