The Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization have posted informational slides for faculty preparing pre-proposal submissions in response to the inaugural Ancora request for proposals.
The slides provide background on Ancora Innovation, the new collaboration between Vanderbilt University and Deerfield Management involving a $65 million commitment from Deerfield to advance drug discovery. The slides also provide guidance on conceptualizing projects and sample case studies.
Faculty are encouraged to focus on high-risk, high-reward research that can lead to new breakthroughs through team science that leverages core facilities and has the potential for commercialization.
Pre-proposal submissions are due from faculty June 4. The review process for pre-proposals will be completed by July 23, at which time all pre-proposals will receive feedback.
Faculty whose pre-proposals are not advanced will have the opportunity to develop them for future Ancora requests, which are anticipated biannually. Faculty whose pre-proposals are selected for advancement on July 23 will be invited to submit full proposals that will be due Sept. 10. Final selections will be announced in early November.
