Vanderbilt appoints committees, advisory firm for graduate and professional student village

As part of the next phase for a graduate and professional student village, Vanderbilt has announced executive and advisory committees that will work closely with Brailsford & Dunlavy, the development advisory firm on the project.

The executive committee comprises university leadership in various areas and will work directly with the advisory firm to determine the best site, time frame and management model for the village. Vanderbilt is working to establish a public-private partnership for the project.

The advisory committee will work with the executive committee to ensure the project aligns with the Academic Strategic Plan. Students, faculty and staff appointed to this committee will provide input on decisions and form additional working groups as needed.

The members of the executive committee are:

  • Susan R. Wente, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs
  • Eric Kopstain, vice chancellor for administration
  • Brett Sweet, vice chancellor for finance
  • Mark Wallace, dean of the Graduate School
  • Chris Guthrie, dean of Vanderbilt Law School
  • Eric Johnson, dean of the Owen Graduate School of Management
  • Michael Perez, associate vice chancellor of facilities
  • Margaret Emley, interim director of real estate (project manager)

The members of the advisory committee are:

  • Vicki Greene, professor of physics, Faculty Senate representative
  • William H. Robinson, associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science, associate dean and Faculty Senate representative
  • Eric Bymaster, associate vice chancellor of finance
  • Christopher Serkin, professor of law, associate dean
  • Angela Vogeli, associate general counsel
  • Melissa Thomas-Hunt, vice provost of inclusive excellence and professor of management
  • Stephen Bailey, graduate student, Peabody College
  • Sarah Miele, graduate student, Civil Engineering
  • April Hughes, graduate student, Owen Graduate School of Management
  • Vibhaas (Vee) Basukala, graduate student, Vanderbilt Law School
