National Nutrition Month events kick off March 2

“Eat Well, Live Well” to celebrate National Nutrition Month in March. Join in fun and informative events and challenges to learn valuable skills, such as how to cut through confusing nutrition information to find what’s healthy and what’s not, how to navigate the grocery store, and how to plan healthy meals.

Courtyard Café Kickoff Event

Join Health Plus and VUMC chefs at our kickoff event in the dining area. Enjoy tasty food samples and receive a small giveaway.

Eat Well, Live Well Presentation

What can you do about the conflicting information about what’s healthy and what’s not? Almost daily we are bombarded with confusing information about what foods are best for our health. This Health Plus presentation will give you the information and tools to make better food choices.

National Nutrition Month Expo

Join Health Plus, the Vanderbilt Recreation Center and Campus Dining for a National Nutrition Month Expo. More tasty food samples, nutrition activities and information will be available.

Eat Well, Live Well Online Challenge

Sign up by March 15 to participate in the Online Challenge Series. Receive three weekly emails straight to your inbox. Learn about or refresh your knowledge on a helpful topic: Habits of Healthy Eaters, Grocery Store Guidance, and Meal Planning 101. Participants will be entered to win a grand prize.

Department Challenge

Throughout the month, help yourself and others make better food choices. We’ve put together a list of fun ways you can get your whole team involved. Choose one from below or think of your own. Email health.plus@vanderbilt.edu a photo of your team with a short description of what you did to celebrate to win a department prize.

  • Host a healthy potluck with your coworkers. Everyone brings a dish to share.
  • Ditch the candy dish. Fill it with a healthy alternative, or keep the dish out of sight.
  • Stock your breakroom with healthy snacks. People generally eat what’s available. Try fresh fruit or protein and fiber rich granola bars.
  • Dump the donuts. Try a yogurt parfait bar or overnight oats to feed the whole crowd.
