Vanderbilt University periodically reviews the investments offered by its Retirement Plan to ensure it continues to help you meet your retirement and financial goals, and that the plan offers a variety of options to fit different risk tolerance levels. The university’s Benefits Fiduciary Oversight Committee considers performance, value and access to services that complement your account, among other factors.

As a result of a recent review, the Delaware SMID Cap Growth Fund will be replaced by the Jackson Square SMID-Cap Growth Fund on Jan. 26, 2017. The Delaware fund performed well since it became part of our plan’s lineup, but its focus and management team have recently changed. The team that previously managed this fund now manages the Jackson Square Fund. We believe your interests are best served by staying with the management team and strategy that have done well in the past.

You do not need to do anything as a result of this change.

  • If you are currently invested in the Delaware SMID Cap Growth Fund, your money will automatically be transferred to the Jackson Square SMID-Cap Growth Fund.
  • If your future contribution elections currently include the Delaware SMID Cap Growth Fund, they will automatically update to the Jackson Square SMID-Cap Growth fund.

If you would like to change your investment elections, you can do so at any time using Fidelity NetBenefits (www.netbenefits.com/vanderbilt) or by calling Fidelity at 800-343-0860.
