Vanderbilt families enjoyed music under the stars in June with the Nashville Symphony

Nashville Symphony Family Night 2016-2Vanderbilt University employees and their families enjoyed a picture-perfect evening of music under the stars at the Employee Appreciation Vanderbilt Family Night with the Nashville Symphony June 2 at Centennial Park Bandshell.

Children were delighted trying out instruments during the “instrument petting zoo” before the concert began. Barbara Carroll, Vanderbilt University’s chief human resources officer, introduced the symphony to kick off the concert.

Nashville Symphony Family Night 2016-1Concertgoers picked up water, Vanderbilt buttons and wristbands at the VU tent, and fans were provided by the symphony.

The program featured several selections led by conductor Vinay Parameswaran, including composer John Williams’ Star Wars Main Title. “I’m looking forward to hearing the Star Wars theme,” said one attendee. “My family and I enjoy this every year!” said another.
