All Vanderbilt faculty and staff who are committed to leading a healthy lifestyle are encouraged to participate in Go for the Gold

Top 10 Reasons To Participate in Go for the Gold:

  1. Learn about risk factors for Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer and Osteoporosis.  The Health Risk Assessment is a great way to learn about maintaining healthy habits.
  2. Find out your “Health Age” – according to your health habits you might be younger than you thought!
  3. View your progress – you can compare your Health Risk Assessment results to previous years.  Take action and see the results!
  4. Get Active­ – log your steps using the Start! Physical Activity Tracker and check off one of 12 actions in the Wellness Actions Log.
  5. Know Your Numbers – and stay in control of weight and blood pressure.
  6. Maintain Good Health with Preventive Care – learn about recommended health screenings and self-care.
  7. Your Decisions Matter – An advance directive tells your health care provider what kind of care you would like to have if you become unable to make medical decisions. It lets your health care provider know what kinds of treatment you do or do not want.
  8. Take the pledge to drive phone free! Read the Distracted Driving article and pledge top drive phone free.
  9. Get energized by watching the Game Plan For Your Health Video – “Manage Your Energy, Maximize Your Life”

Go for the Gold Deadline is midnight Oct. 31, 2014

A Wellness Credit of up to $240 is available to faculty/staff paying for a Vanderbilt Health Plan on Jan. 1, 2015.

Go for the Gold levels:

  • Bronze ($120): Health Risk Assessment.
  • Silver ($180): Health Risk Assessment + Wellness Actions Log
  • Gold ($240): Health Risk Assessment + Wellness Actions Log + Game Plan for Your Health

The wellness credit may applied to your Health Plan Account or toward a membership at the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center in 2015. You will have the opportunity to tell us how you want to use your credit when you select your benefits through Open Enrollment.
