In the 2014 Game Plan Video, “Manage your Energy, Maximize your Life,” Dean Emilie Townes of the Vanderbilt Divinity School tells us that spiritual energy is about finding ways to slow down and get in touch with the things that give us a center.
Ways to center your spirit:
- Find quiet time. Do things like practice yoga and mindfulness, engage in prayer, or even play golf. Vanderbilt Mindfulness provides access to resources intended to further the practice and integration of mindfulness.
- Understand core values. That can help us close the gap between who we are and who we want to be.
- Celebrate life. Find ways to celebrate the fact that we have been given the gift of life.
