International Student and Scholar Services is seeking presenters with expertise or academic interest in an international issue or event to participate in the World On Wednesdays program for Fall 2012.
ISSS facilitates and promotes international awareness throughout the Vanderbilt community by sponsoring campus-wide events that are open to the public. WOW is a channel for internationally focused minds to share their knowledge in a forum that will expand the audience’s understanding of world issues and allow for more globally inclusive perspectives.
Past WOW sessions have featured research findings, experiences abroad, academic and professional work interests and presentations on historical and current events with an international scope.
Spots are limited, and availability is based on a presenter’s proposed topic. The fall 2012 session of WOW begins Aug. 29 and ends Nov. 28. All events are held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in the Student Life Center.
For a department, organization or individual to participate in WOW, a proposal form must be submitted with a preferred presentation day. Currently, the available days are: Sept. 12, 19 and 26; Oct. 3 and 31; and Nov. 7 and 28. A proposal form is required to reserve a date.
