Watch video of James Lee Ray, professor of political science, speaking at the Osher Lifelong Learning class, “Politics in a Polarized Polity.”

The Jan. 25 class, “Polarization in Foreign Policy,” focuses on how U.S. foreign policy was once a point of consensus between Republicans and Democrats; however, we are now in a new foreign policy era in which conservatives tend to favor a fundamentally different approach than do liberals.

The class is part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Vanderbilt. The non-credit classes are intended for older adults who want to pursue lifelong learning with the stimulus of lectures and discussions in an informal and relaxed environment.
