This year's Seyfert Lecture was given by Dr. David C. Jewitt, a professor in UCLA's Department of Earth and Space Sciences and in the Institute for Geophysics and Planetary Physics of the University of California. His talk, “Primordial Ice Reservoirs of the Solar System,” was given March 25, 2010.
His presentation provides a broad overview of our current knowledge (and lack of knowledge) of the primordial ice reservoirs. He emphasizes links to the formation epoch and draws connections for those interested in the origin of the oceans and the atmosphere and in the thermal evolution of asteroids and comets.
