MEDIA ADVISORY: Susan Gray School to cut ribbon on new fully accessible playground

The Susan Gray School for Children will dedicate and cut the ribbon on the new Finan Family Playground 2:30 p.m. Oct. 24. The event will be part of Vanderbilt Peabody College’s homecoming weekend activities.

The playground was made possible by Tom and Mary K. Finan, Vanderbilt Athletics and other donors. This playground, for children in the 3-5-year-old preschool program, complements the Toddler & Two playground that was dedicated in 2002. It is barrier-free, accessible to all children and includes a central fort structure with wheel chair accessibility and novel play panels, a variety of swing types and an outdoor classroom area.

For nearly four decades, the Susan Gray School has served young children with developmental disabilities and young children who are at risk for developmental delay. The school has the distinction of being the first nationally recognized early intervention program to include typically developing children in educational settings with children with disabilities.WHAT: Susan Gray School for Children Finan Family Playground
