MEDIA ADVISORY: Wright Middle School students to speak live with International Space Station astronaut

Students at Wright Middle School in Nashville will join members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee in a live conversation with an astronaut on the International Space Station on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Jeff Williams, currently in space as part of Expedition 13 on the space station, will answer questions for 20 minutes during the morning presentation in the auditorium of Wright Middle School, which will include a presentation of the Fisk-Vanderbilt NASA Roadshow. The portable planetarium helps teach students about the stars in hopes of interesting them in careers in science.

Only five other public schools have communicated live with astronauts. Wright Middle School is the first public middle school to participate.

The program, which will be broadcast live on NASA TV and Comcast Channel 25, is open to the media.
