VU victorious in black and gold battle
The Vanderbilt Commodores did something on Sept. 1 that they haven't done since 1993-win their season opener on the road. Fourth-year Head Coach Bobby Johnson and his Commodores toughed out a 24-20 win against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, scoring the go-ahead touchdown with 1:48 left in the game. Vanderbilt offers classes to students displaced by Katrina
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In response to Hurricane Katrina's devastation, Vanderbilt University is offering a campus-wide response that includes medical aid, counseling for students from the affected areas, fund-raising and an option for local students displaced by the tragedy to continue their studies at Vanderbilt while their Gulf Coast colleges and universities work to restore their campuses. Vanderbilt Law Professor Larry Soderquist dies, Was a frequently cited authority on corporate and securities law
Larry D. Soderquist, one of the nation's most respected securities law scholars and director of the Corporate and Securities Law Institute at Vanderbilt Law School, died on Aug. 20 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In his new role, Lehman will have responsibility for the school's new Health Care MBA program, while continuing to conduct research and teach health care information technology strategy classes as professor for the practice of management.
