NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eloise Dunn Stuhr, an honors graduate of
Vanderbilt University who has been a senior development official at
three higher education institutions, is returning to her alma mater to
oversee key development staffs.
Stuhr begins work as associate vice chancellor for development and
alumni relations at Vanderbilt on Sept. 1, announced Robert L. Early,
executive associate vice chancellor for development and alumni
relations, on Wednesday.
"Eloise has more than 20 years of success in development at Penn
State, the University of Oregon and Whitman College," Early said. "She
will oversee the development staffs for Vanderbilt University Law
School, the Owen Graduate School of Management, the College of Arts
& Science, Peabody College of education and human development, the
School of Engineering, Vanderbilt University Divinity School and the
Blair School of Music."
Stuhr has worked at Pennsylvania State University since 1995, and since 2002 as executive director of leadership gifts.
"I am absolutely delighted with the chance to return to my alma
mater and the opportunity to advance Vanderbilt’s mission and special
character," Stuhr said. "I look forward to the chance to work with the
deans and the development staff on their specific initiatives and
goals."
Eloise Dunn Stuhr is married to John Stuhr, the W. Alton Jones Professor of Philosophy at Vanderbilt.
Early also announced that three development staff members will be shifting responsibilities.
Elizabeth Rapisarda, associate vice chancellor, will add the role of
chief operating officer for development and alumni relations to her
duties. Jennifer Howe, associate vice chancellor for University
initiatives, transinstitutional initiatives and special events, will
take on responsibility for corporate and foundation relations. Pat
Kovalcheck, executive director of special projects, will develop and
write major proposals for individuals and foundations and serve as an
internal senior adviser to the department.
"Vanderbilt University Development and Alumni Relations is fortunate
to have great depth and flexibility of talent in senior management,"
Early said. "These changes add to those strengths."
