The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development is hosting a photo exhibit and forum to raise awareness of the education needs of those with vision impairments. The exhibit, "Focusing on the Future of Students with Vision Impairments: Teachers in Action," showcases photos taken by the Brentwood Camera Club of teachers and students with vision impairments interacting in different learning situations.
In conjunction with the exhibit, the center will host a forum on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. to discuss the future of education for those with vision impairments. The panel will include an educator, a parent of a visually impaired child and a photographer discussing their professional and personal experiences related to vision impairments. A reception will be held following the forum to recognize those involved with the art exhibit.
This exhibit is one of a series by or about people with disabilities. The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center is a national center for research on developmental disabilities. For information about the center, visit http://kc.vanderbilt.edu.
