Results of African American men and sexuality study discussed Oct. 2

In 2012, the Meharry Youth Health and Wellness Center received a grant from the Baptist Healing Trust to provide health services for young men who have sex with men, with a special focus on young African American men.

In order to fulfill this mission, a partnership was formed with Nashville CARES, StreetWorks, Project ONO and a team of researchers to learn from young men what they would like to have in a health home. Findings from a series of focus groups will be presented at a meeting from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, in the Nashville CARES multipurpose room, 633 Thompson Lane.

Presenters will be  Freida Outlaw, adjunct professor in Peabody College’s Department of Human and Organizational Development, and Ranae Evenson Newhouse, assistant professor in Tennessee State University’s Department of Sociology.
