The number of confirmed cases of measles is now at 141 in an outbreak that continues to spread across the country. Vaccination against measles is highly effective, and the Centers for Disease Control recommends that all adults have at least one dose of MMR vaccine unless they have other evidence of immunity.

All Vanderbilt University and Medical Center employees may obtain an MMR vaccine at no charge through the Occupational Health Clinic. Measles vaccination is a VUMC requirement, so Medical Center employees may check the Health and Wellness Information Portal to see if their MMR is up-to-date.

For more information, visit the CDC’s website on measles vaccination.
