Annual Vanderbilt tradition serves to welcome winter
The 93rd annual Hanging of the Green will take place Friday, Dec. 5, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Vanderbilt Peabody College of education and human development. The event will include a ceremonial placement of evergreen wreathes at the main entrance of the Wyatt Center. Holiday cookies and hot chocolate will be served. In addition, a reflection activity will be offered, in which participants may attach a hope, wish or prayer to a communal paper wreath.
The Hanging of the Green tradition at Peabody dates back to 1921. It has served as a celebration of the past and coming years, as well as a welcoming of winter. The Hanging of the Green is sponsored by the undergraduate student-led Peabody Council.
The campus community and general public are welcome to attend.
