Onboard personal smart devices before returning to campus following wireless network security update
Jun. 9, 2020—VUIT updated the vuNet and eduroam campus wireless networks in early July. All VU-managed devices will automatically connect to the newly updated networks. Personal smart devices, such as smart phones and tablets or other non-Vanderbilt issued devices, will need to be onboarded to the networks by the user.
Expect brief WiFi outages on Nov. 26
Nov. 22, 2019—To maintain security and supportability of the VU wireless networks, VUIT will be working on the networks on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be 10-minute WiFi outages in each of the buildings on campus (excluding residence halls) within the maintenance window.
vummiv WiFi outage Nov. 19-25 in preparation of Dec. 3 network retirement
Nov. 14, 2019—Vanderbilt’s vummiv WiFi network will be retired on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 a.m. In preparation of the retirement, vummiv will be unavailable from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, through 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25.

Nov. 8, 2019—Vanderbilt’s vummiv WiFi network will be retired on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 a.m. In preparation of the retirement, vummiv will be unavailable from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and again from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25.
Wireless network changes coming to Medical Center buildings Sept. 5
Aug. 2, 2017—Beginning Sept. 5, the university’s wireless network, vuNet, will no longer be available in Vanderbilt University Medical Center buildings.
