Black History Month celebrated at Vanderbilt
Mar. 2, 2020—Vanderbilt’s 2020 celebration of Black History Month included lectures, off-campus trips, community events and more to celebrate and reflect on the history, impact and contributions of African Americans throughout the country’s history and at the university.
Anthony Abraham Jack to give 12th annual Murray Lecture
Feb. 7, 2020—Anthony Abraham Jack, a junior fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows and assistant professor of education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, is the featured speaker for the 12th annual Murray Lecture. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Sarratt Cinema on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Jan. 31, 2020—Vanderbilt’s annual celebration of Black History Month will kick off Monday, Feb. 3, at the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center with the first of many events planned throughout February. The month will include film screenings, lectures, celebratory programs and more.

Jan. 25, 2018—Linda Gordon, a professor at New York University and the author of "The Second Coming of the KKK: The Ku Klux Klan of the 1920s and the American Political Tradition," will discuss the themes of her book Monday, Feb. 5, at The Martha Rivers Ingram Commons. The event is the 10th annual Murray Lecture at Vanderbilt.
