Vanderbilt University expands national footprint with New York City campus to open in fall 2026
Vanderbilt University marked a defining moment in its 150-year history with the official establishment of its first campus outside of Nashville: Vanderbilt University–New York City. Located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, the campus will welcome an inaugural cohort of students for an Undergraduate Semester Program and a Master of Science in Business and Technology program in fall 2026. Building on the success of its inaugural public programming in Chelsea, Vanderbilt University today announced the next chapter of its faculty lecture series at Vanderbilt University - New York City. This fall, the university will invite New Yorkers and the Vanderbilt community to explore the intersections of music and spirituality and the mutual influence of technology and education through two public events: “Divine Rhythms: Jazz and the Sacred” on September 25 and “AI and the Future of the American University” on November 13. New York State attorney general approves Vanderbilt’s lease deal for NYC Campus
Vanderbilt University has announced that the New York State attorney general has granted the approval necessary to close on the lease of its new campus in New York City. The approval is an important milestone in the agreement between Vanderbilt and the General Theological Seminary that enables Vanderbilt to operate on the historic block in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood.
