Vanderbilt University students bypass beach, choose community service during spring break
While spring break is traditionally a time set aside for rest and relaxation, more than 370 Vanderbilt University students will trade academic work for community during the university's Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Program March 6-10. The students will travel to 32 volunteer sites across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala as they engage in community service and learn about the problems faced by members of communities with whom they otherwise may have had little or no direct contact. MEDIA ADVISORY: Information on Sept. 25 shooting
Three Vanderbilt University students were injured, one by a gunshot, following a party on campus at a residence hall in the early morning of Sept. 25. The shot was fired by an individual attending the party who is not a Vanderbilt student, police said.
