May. 12, 2017—Thirty-two retiring faculty members were recognized during Vanderbilt’s Commencement ceremony May 12, when the university honored their years of service and bestowed on them the title of emeritus or emerita faculty.
May. 12, 2017—Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos awarded the top scholars from each of the university’s undergraduate and professional schools with Founder’s Medals during Commencement on Friday, May 12.
May. 11, 2017—A parking lot on 21st Avenue South, Lot 7, will close permanently Monday, May 15, as the university begins work on the new 29,947-square-foot addition to the School of Nursing. Lot 7 will be converted to a green space, with a drive that will allow for drop off at the entry of the renovated facility.
May. 4, 2017—Nilda (Nena) Peragallo Montano, Dr.Ph., R.N., dean of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing, will deliver the spring 2017 Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) Dean’s Diversity Lecture on Thursday, May 11, at 2 p.m. in Godchaux Nursing Annex room 161.
May. 2, 2017—Nilda Peragallo Montano, dean of the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will speak on culturally appropriate ways for practitioners and researchers to reach out to and work with Latino subjects. The lecture will be Thursday, May 11, at 2 p.m. in Godchaux Nursing Annex, Room 161.
Apr. 24, 2017—Linda Norman, dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, talks about the aging health care workforce during a new episode of Nashville Public Television’s "Aging Matters" on Thursday, April 27, at 8 p.m.
Apr. 18, 2017—Sheila H. Ridner, the Martha Rivers Ingram Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, will be honored by Sigma Theta Tau International with induction into its International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held in July in Dublin, Ireland.
Mar. 23, 2017—The Vanderbilt University School of Nursing will soon break ground on a new 29,947-square-foot addition on the Vanderbilt campus. Construction is expected to begin in late spring 2017.
