18 Vanderbilt graduate students and postdoctoral researchers traveled to Washington, D.C., in October to participate in Vanderbilt’s Federal STEM Policy and Advocacy Seminar. This two-day event is designed to provide STEM professionals with an inside look at the federal policymaking process, the importance of advocacy in advancing science and research priorities and to explore careers in science policy. Bunmi Olatunji, professor of psychology and associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, has been appointed dean of academic affairs at the Graduate School, effective Jan. 1, 2020. He succeeds Richard Hoover, who is stepping down after 18 years in the role and will retire from Vanderbilt on Dec. 31. Read More
